The taste of wilderness on my tongue – the smell of sage in my nose – the rolling pound of the herd as they tear across the pastures in wild flight in my ears – can’t be there anymore – can’t watch them rip each other apart – let them use me as a crutch anymore – that doesn’t help my conscience.
